This project comprised the new construction of a single storey office building within the grounds of the existing Residence. This included the complete fit out of internal office spaces, toilets, reception and server room as well as all the office and building infrastructure required such as a generator, solar PV panels and main air conditioning/ventilation plant.

Additionally, a new Guard House and entrance were constructed to provide the necessary security and access arrangements to the compound as a whole. As well as this a new garage building was also constructed to house official vehicles and parking areas provided for staff and visitor cars.

Given the tropical climate on the island of Mauritius the main challenges were surrounding the weather conditions and maintaining momentum of the project during the rainy season especially when much of the work was in the ground.

However, with determination and collaboration with the client team the project was handed over successfully and to a high standard following a break for the inevitable disruption caused by the pandemic.
